The GameTime Breakdown: Nova @ WVU

Posted by Chad Brendel in Untagged

Chad Brendel

I'll be live updating this blog tonight throughout the Big Monday match up on ESPN. With both opponents still remaining on the UC schedule I'll be breaking down the strengths and weaknesses of each team as I look ahead to the future match up with the Cats. Here are a few thoughts before the game.

1. Size vs Quickness- It will be very interesting to see how each team chooses to defend each other. Nova plays 4 guards and a forward while WVU likes to go with 3 and sometimes 4 guys over 6'7" on the floor at the same time. If WVU stays big, I look for them to use quite a bit of 1-3-1 to try and keep Nova from driving to the rim. Nova will put a ton of pressure on the ball and try to take advantage of shaky PG play in the open court.

2. Star vs Star- Scottie Reynolds and DeSean Butler are two of the elite performers in the Big East and both are the heart and soul of their respective teams. Reynolds does most of his damage with the ball in his hands while Butler has grown into a very versatile scorer that can create shots in every way imaginable. While it's unlikely they will see a ton of time defending each other I will be watching how they are working to get their scoring inside and out.

3. 2 Game Losing Streak- Nova will no doubt be playing with a chip on their shoulder after getting blown out Saturday at Georgetown. After starting Big East play at 8-0 they face another brutal road challenge in Morgantown. Will they come out playing with a tenacity to stay in control the Big East race or will they let the loss and subsequent travel through a blizzard to get to this one? WVU has been known to start slow and finish strong, but if Nova jumps out big early they will be very hard to come back on because of their great guard play.

Time for the game.  I'm leaning towards Nova picking up the win.

*Right off the bat Corey Fisher grabs a rebound and goes coast to coast for a bucket.  Fisher is small but he finishes with great strength through contact at the rim.

*On the other end Kevin Jones gets a rebound and stick back. His game has really impressed me lately inside and out.

*WVU is crashing the glass hard early on the offensive end. That's a key for UC to knock off Nova IMO.

WVU leads 5-4 at the first media TO.

*The pressure Nova applies on the ball at all times is what scares the hell out of when looking at the guards on the UC roster.

* Right now WVU is not doing a good job at all of exploiting their size advantage on the defensive end. It's been the only way they have scored on the other end by crashing the glass, but Nova is eating up the man to man D.

*Again Fisher attacks the rim and draws contact. He can get your bigs in foul trouble early if you are not careful.

*Kilicli comes in and right away makes an impact on both ends of the floor. He really gives them a different dynamic.

Nova leads 19-10 with 11:15 left.

*WVU now in the 1-3-1 but Nova is slicing right through it the first few times down the court.

*Mazulla providing WVU with a nice offensive spark as the lead is cut to 6 and Jay Wright takes a quick :30.

Nova up 11 at the under 8 break.

*The 1-3-1 has killed opponents all year and stopped runs, but Nova is just destroying it and has forced WVU back to man.

*I will be shocked if UC has under 20 turnovers against Nova.

* Maybe more of a factor than just the on ball pressure Nova applies is how well they attack the passing lanes for steals. UC makes enough lazy passes that it might look like a lay up line.

Nova up 10 at the final media break of the 1st half.

*Kilicli has a surprising touch from the FT line.

*Butler only 1-5 from the field, but Nova has fouled him twice on 3s to inflate his scoring numbers in the 1st half. As I type that Butler nails a 3 to up his point total to 12.

Nova leads 44-33 at the half.

Scottie Reynolds with only 2 points at the half and Nova leads by double figures. That doesn't bode well for WVU in the 2nd.

With Nova eating up both the man and 1-3-1 sets from WVU it will be interesting to see what Huggs comes up with out of the half. If you switch the focus to Fisher, Reynolds will have a chance to get on track.

*Ebanks finally shows up to start the 2nd half. He was a total non factor in the 1st.

*Fisher to the bench with his 3rd foul and Reynolds is really struggling. Here comes the WVU 2nd half run as Jones gets another stick back to cut it to 5.

Nova leads 45-40 at the 1st media break of the half.

*The game is slowing down to a crawl right now, which is exactly what UC will need to do to Nova to hang around. The problem is they have a shot clock violation and turnover in their last 2 possessions.

*Fisher picks up a cheap foul for his 4th. Stokes and Wayns will really have to step up if Reynolds continues to struggle.

*Pena with his 3rd now as well. Foul problems mounting up.

*WVU has gone totally flat on the offensive end. Sounds familiar.

*Reyonlds decides to show up with a pull up 3 and a blow by for the and 1. That's the problem I talked about up top with Reynolds. Slowing him down for 40 minutes is near impossible and you have to take advantage when he is off.

Nova back up 10 with 12:09 left.

*2nd shot clock violation of the half for WVU.

*The officials for this one stink. Numerous bad calls for both sides including an awful offensive goaltending call that erased 2 for Nova.

*Reynolds again with the open court and 1 at the rim. 9 quick points here in the middle part of the 2nd half.

*Casey Mitchell is giving WVU a huge spurt scoring 8 of their last 9.

WVU cuts it to 3 with 7:57 remaining.

*Bilas on WVU. "This is a tough WVU team that guards and rebounds. If they ever start consistently knocking shots down............."

*I really think Jones at the PF spot will be the key match up issue for UC. He will takes Gates or Toyloy out on the perimeter and out muscle Thomas or Toyloy on the block.

*Scottie Reynolds is everything Deonta Vaughn isn't. Never hangs his head. Never lets a few missed shots impact the other parts of his game. A leader in every sense of the word.

Nova leads 70-64 at the final media stop.

*Reynolds with 15 in the 2nd half and Butler with 0.

*The 2nd half performances of Reynolds and Butler are going to decide this one. Nova up 9 with :50 remaining.

*The WVU 6 game winning streak is snapped and Nova moves to 10-1 in the league.

Thanks for reading. I'll be doing this a time or two a week down the stretch. Hope you enjoyed...

Be Careful What You Wish For

dsimone985

This was supposed to be an entry to the "What would you do" thread but I went way over the character limit so its now a blog.

I'm not going to come on here and claim to know everything about basketball b/c I dont.  I have coached a lot of basketball at different level's but nothing close to college.  My dad has coached basketball for over 20 years and has a remarkable record at his level and I have learned a lot from him but again he isnt some basketball savant either.

This is a very hard question to answer for me b/c I havent seen a single practice or read a scouting report.  Its easy for me to say something like "we should play a 2-3 zone" when I dont know that maybe its been practiced and isnt effective so they decide to stay in man.  There are so many things I dont know that would be vital toward me giving my opinion on this topic and it just makes it hard for anyone who wants to comment.

That said, I will take the Syracuse game for example b/c its still fresh in our minds.

IMO the game plan and until the 12 minute mark the execution was just about as perfect as possible.  SU is avg. 85/game, is shooting 53% from the field and all 5 starters avg 50% or better from the field.  Those stats are just stupid, no other way to describe them.  UC had no chance to even be in this game if they tried to run with SU.  They slowed it down and played the possession game.  In the first half SU played their traditional 2-3 zone with Trice (6'4") and Rautins  (6'4") up top.  This is much different than last year when they had  Flynn (5'10") up top with Devendorf.  The move to put Lance up top was a very good one.  He can see over the zone which is something DV or Cash couldnt and he is a good passer.  We played the short corner game well and Thomas did a real nice job of flashing to the high post and turning strong, he needs to get stronger with the ball but thats not the point of this.  There were things we could have done better but being down 2 at half was a good sign.  It was apparent the players knew what they were doing and were following the scouting report/game plan.  Even though UC was in the game at multiple times in the first half fans booed as they milked the shot clock.  I dont want violations but sometimes thats going to happen when you play the game like that.  Sometimes the defense actually has a great possession and doesnt let you get a clean look or a look at all.  I would much rather have a dead ball turnover then to force a pass that starts a fast break and leads to an easy bucket.

I will skip ahead to the 12:20 mark as that's where it all went to hell.

I noticed in the second half SU played more of a 3-2 or what you would call a 3-2 match up and I think this threw or guys.  They would open in the standard 2-3 and as we should we gave them an odd look (lance with DV on one wing and someone else on the other)  Once lance passed to the wing the baseline man (usually Joseph or Wes if he was in) would come out and guard the ball allowing the 2 guys up top to guard Lance and give help to the middle knowing we couldnt throw a cross court pass.  When we reversed the ball they would just rotate and do the same thing on the other side.  This is a case where I would have done something different.  I would have gone with a even set up top, someone at the high post and two guys on the baseline going from the block to the short corner (15 ft) depending on where the ball goes.  We did this some but not enough IMO.  When a team goes 3-2 you have to get it in the high post b/c it forces one of the baseline defenders to come out and guard the ball, if they dont it should leave a shot from 15 ft.  if they come out and guard you there are the two baseline players and one should be open.  I would have tried Lance at that high post spot b/c he can make that shot, he can rebound, and he can pass.  You need a smart player in that position who knows to look for his shot and then look opposite.  Thomas played that spot and was just too slow with his decision making.  You are not going to get wide open shots against a zone that has guys 6'4" to 6'9".  I think we passed up too many of what I would call good looks, not wide open ones but ones we need to take and hit in order to beat a team like SU.

We then ran bad offense, couldnt shoot, and took our bad offense to the defensive end and stopped guarding.  Its doesnt seem like it should be that simple but it really is.

This is the first game where I really didnt understand the sub patterns.  We arent going to beat many teams and especially SU if LS, DV, RB, and YG are on the bench at the same time.  I also didnt get how yancy could sit from that 12 min mark all the way down to 4 min. left.  That said I understand whey he is playing everyone.  Guys arent getting it done so you either just keep the same guys out there and hope they start hitting or you play other guys and see if you can catch something.  Personally I would be playing everyone but not every game like we are now.  Its a tough thing to do b/c its a game to game problem we are having that we have no idea where the points are going to come from, the inconsistency is causing him to play everyone, trying to find the best lineup to win.

As far as what I would do differently.

1. Get better shooters - sounds silly but its the truth.  DV, Cash, and Larry went 2-12 from 3, when your not a very good shooting team your 3 'best" shooters cant do that.  We take too many 3's but to me its only b/c we dont have good shooters.  They arent jacking 3's like some teams do, they went 10-20 against UofL but thats the exception not the rule.

2.  Change our recruiting philosophy - We need more guys who come in with at least one defined skill set.  I'm talking about someone who can rebound for 40 min, someone who can knock down shots, someone who can run a team.  I dont want to go to the extreme of ND where all our guys are skill players and not very good athletes cause it hurts the defense but we need more guys with built in skills when they arrive on campus.  DD is a great athlete, what does he do well basketball wise? DW, silly athletically, but again, from a basketball standpoint what does he bring to the table?  We have a bunch of guys who are athletes and do some nice things but not consistently enough.  Player development is very important but isnt it easier to develop a kid if you dont have to teach him how to shoot or how to rebound with passion.

3.  Play Cash, Park, and DD a lot more - those 3 and SK are the future of our back court as of right now and we need to find out what we got.  I have a pretty damn good idea of what I'm gonna get from DV, RB, and LD and its not all that great.  I dont want to totally bail on this season but I would be looking to next year and beyond.
4.  Mix it up some - play some 1-3-1 with DW up top, play some 2-3/3-2.  On offense we run a very NBA like pick and roll offense, thats great if you have shooters, we dont.  I would play more motion and try to take advantage of guys like LS, CW, and DD driving abilities.
5.  Win more games - at this point thats the only answer.  All the stuff I have said might help do that but results are all that matters.  Its no secret I like Mick, I think he's a good coach playing in a very tough league at a school that isnt used to being average and has fans who dont know how to react to not being 25-7.  That said, UC needs to win more games, they have to find a way to win the Gonzaga, X, and SJU games.  He's past the point of rebuilding and thats why I think it would be a terrible idea to get rid of him.  The first 2-3 years were very bad but I'm not sure anyone could have done all that better.  He has about half a roster or maybe a little more than half of guys who should be playing in the BE under normal circumstances.  Look at the 07 class, Bishop picked UC over Rutgers, SH, Marquette, and Providence.  Not Nova, Pitt, UCONN, and SU.  I dont know who "officially" offered LD and that may be b/c of his injury but he had Miami, SMU, Boston College, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Arizona State and Texas A&M interested.  Not exactly the elite of college basketball.  We want to compete with and win the BE, we first have to get top level players.  Mick had to take gambles on Hernol Hall, Adam H, and Jason Henry that established BE teams didnt and dont have to do.  I think there is a decent sized gap b/t the 06-07 classes and the 08-09 classes.  It takes years to build relationships with kids now and Mick is finally working on an even playing field in that respect.  Wins help with recruiting no doubt but Coach K is a great coach b/c he has great players.

If you want Mick gone, thats fine, I dont agree, but you can have that opinion.  If you do, who is going to replace him?  This is just my take but I cant see any BCS level HC that we would want leaving for the UC job.  I also wouldnt really be interested in someone who has never been a HC.  This is the best league in America, I dont want some first timer trying to beat WVU.  That leaves a list of guys that include Chris Mooney (Richmond), Cliff Ellis (Coastal Carolina), Blaine Taylor (ODU), Tony Barbee (UTEP), Fran McCaffery (Siena), and Ben Jacobson (N. Iowa).  I like a few of those guys but are any of them that much better than Mick?  Are any of them worth the money?  Do you think any of them are such better recruiters than Mick that it would be foolish not to fire him and replace him with coach X?  Fans ran Herb Sendek out of NCST, now they might be looking to replace coach Lowe.  Steve Alford couldnt win enough at Iowa, he left on his own for New Mexico.  NMU is 21-3 and 15th in the country, Iowa is 8-16 and 2nd to last in the Big 10.

This was very long and encompassed a lot of different thoughts.  There are things I dont like and things I would change but as a program we are heading in the right direction.  I know its tough to come out when your not winning as much as you think UC should but thats the best way we can help return UC to the top and pretty much the only way.  The last thing I will say is be careful what you wish for, who's to say Mick isnt looking to leave on his own.  Maybe he wants to get rid of us, then where we would we go?

Coach Mick Cronin

Posted by in Untagged

by bcat

Let me start by making it clear that I am a HUGE Mick Cronin supporter and I have been from his start at UC.  As a fan, he was my first choice when the UC Bearcats were searching for a coach to lead them into the 2006-2007 season(The day I knew he was being hired I went out and bought four 6 packs of "Mickeys" and shared them with a fellow Bearcat fan.  It was a rough next morning.)   Mick is a hometown guy, a UC alumni, he was a UC assistant, he worked under two very good college coaches, he recruits very well and he had three years of success at Murray St., including two NCAA Tournament berths.  I would not think that too many people would disagree with me I say "Mick was an excellent choice to take over at UC", but that is not the case.

Mick has not really been given a fair chance by the fans since he arrived in Clifton.  It seems like only about 50% of the fans were happy about him being hired or had any faith in him to succeed at UC. The other 50% have been trying to get rid of him since before he coached a game.   Now in his 4th season, the first 50% have given up.  The problem is that some of the fans that supported him(and continue to) are starting to give up on him too.  What people should realize is that Cronin's first two seasons have to be thrown out the window.  UC was lucky to just have a guy show up and admit he was the head coach at UC. A big problem for the fans is that the Bearcats had a chance to go to the NCAA tourney last season and fell apart late in the year.  Depending on who you ask, you will hear many different reasons for the collapse but the way that it happened was embarrassing and there was no excuse to finish the season losing to Depaul when they still had a chance to make the post season.   That UC team finished in 10th place in the Big East(the same position as the year before. Which is a season that the Cronin supporters are not counting, for good reason).

The Bearcats are still in a position where they can make the NCAA tournament this season.   However, they have what looks to be the toughest schedule in the country over the last 10 games.  The fans do not care about this because UC has dropped some games that they should not have and it has put them in a "must win" situation every time out.  If you are watching the same games that I am, the team seems to be much worse than when they played in Maui back in November.  That is frustrating and the fans have seen this two years in a row.

The following are the losses that I consider to be "bad losses" this season

XU, Pittsburgh, St. Johns(I want to add UAB to the list but I will not).  They had a chance to win all three of these games and they gave them away.  They are better than all three of these teams(at least the team that played in Maui is).  Instead of being 5-5 in the Big East, they should be 7-3 with 8 to go and 3 against teams that they should beat.  I have questioned the coaching alot over the last two seasons and the more I watch the more I question it.  There are not only several bad decisions, questionable substitutions,  lack of preparation or at least getting the message across to the players but it looks like the players do not even listen to their coach.  I do not question if Mick is preparing for the game but I do wonder if he gets his message across to the players like a coach must do in order to be successful.  Are these guys listening to him?  If not, why not?  This is what is turning much of the UC fan base against Mick Cronin.

The questions that most people are talking about(including fans of other teams, which makes me sick) is should the decision makers at UC start to look for a new coach.  How long can they wait before they get rid of Mick?  How long do you wait for the results you need to stay relevant?  In my opinion a college coach needs four years to have a chance at success.  In this situation I think five years is fair.  However, UC is in a tough position.  If they keep Mick one more year(and then cut ties with him), then they are in serious danger of being close to where they were when Mick took over.  They will lose seven total players to graduation and/or NBA that year.  Leaving 5 players on the roster for a new coach.  If they get rid of Mick after this year, the new coach is set up nicely because nobody on the team can really transfer out.  There would be 5 seniors, 2 potential NBA draft picks, a red shirt sophomore, a red shirt freshman, a junior and two incoming freshman.  Everyone on this team is stuck at UC until they graduate or decide to try to go to the NBA.  The two potential early NBA entries need at least another year.

If UC is going to get rid of Mick Cronin, they must do it this year.  Otherwise sign him up for another four years.  If they sign him up for more time, then they take the risk of him not being successful at UC which leads to the seats being empty, the donations even worse than they are in this ongoing Huggins mourning process and the loss of a fan base all together.

I still think Mick is the man for the job(regardless of what I said Thursday night).  I am not even going to start naming potential replacements yet but I have thought about it because the possibility of him being replaced after this season is, and should be real.  If UC does not find a way to make the tournament this season, it is going to be a very interesting April and the decisions are going to be very crucial for the future of the UC basketball program.

Go Bearcats!

UC's Path to an NCAA Bid

<!-- @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } A:link { so-language: zxx } -->

February is here and for a second straight season it is time to take a look at what the Bearcats must do to make the NCAA tournament. Like many of my fellow Bearcat fans I have felt the pain and frustration at what has been by in large a very up and down year. The Bearcats played great in Maui (minus the foul shooting that cost them the Gonzaga) beating Vandy and Maryland then turned around and lost to Xavier and were smacked by UAB. They beat UCONN, but then blew a late lead against St Johns. They took down Notre Dame at home and were smacked by them on the road. UC blew double digit leads against Louisville and Seton Hall but despite that is still .500 in the conference with eight games left. It seems at times this team is there, they get it and then at times they do not.

The frustration hits on multiple levels because we are in what many fans are hoping will not be a fifth straight season without an NCAA tournament bid. After the string of 14 straight seasons making the tournament this level of mediocrity would have been unfathomable. The frustration hits because we have watched the last two seasons when the Bearcats have been in position to make a run only to fade down the stretch. We are fans...we see the negative, we remember how losing has felt and it all adds up.

Despite our worst fears of fading again...of not doing what we need to make the tournament this team will still have every opportunity to get there with a few big wins down the stretch. As of this very moment the Bearcats would be firmly on the bubble selection Sunday. I think it is pointless to try to do a projection now with so much of the season left, but I think it is fair to say the Bearcats would be compared to a number of teams sitting right on the fence (Louisville, North Carolina, Maryland, Ole Miss to name a few).

The selection committee has been pretty consistent with what makes a tournament team. They want you to play quality teams, to beat quality teams, and to prove you can win away from home. Those are the most important qualities in an NCAA tournament team... the other huge area they look at is did that team avoid bad losses. I would say avoiding bad losses is less important than earning quality victories. Maryland, for example, got in last year with several very bad losses on the strength of wins over highly seeded teams Wake Forest, Michigan State and North Carolina (hell UNC and Michigan State ended up playing for that national title...those were big wins).

The NCAA really does not look at conference affiliation in terms of number of teams per conference and instead focuses on each individual team and how they compare to everyone else. What is nice for UC is they do have some quality wins (3 top 50 RPI wins, 1 of which is a win over RPI #12 Vandy). And their worst loss of the season is to St Johns, whose RPI sits at 84. In terms of selection committee criteria that is far from a bad loss. As it stands right now the Bearcats are 3-5 against the RPI top 50 and 6-8 against the RPI top 100. Broken down further they are 1-2 against the RPI top 25 teams, 2-3 against teams ranked between 26-50 and 3-3 against teams ranked 51-100. It also big for the Bearcats that 2 of their 3 top 50 RPI wins were neutral site wins. Judging by those numbers the Bearcats have certainly showed themselves capable of competing against teams that will be in the NCAA field.

More importantly the Bearcats will get many more chances to pad their resume down the stretch. The Bearcats have 8 games remaining on their 2009-2010 regular season schedule. Seven of those 8 games will be against teams ranked in the RPI top 65 (Depaul being the only team not in the RPI top 100). This includes 4 RPI top 8 teams, 3 of which the Bearcats will play in a brutal three game stretch to end the regular season. To really help their case the Bearcats are going to need at least one victory against those RPI top 8 teams (#2 Syracuse, #3 Villanova, #5 WVU, #8 Georgetown). If they can get that and go 4-0 in the other games I think the Bearcats will be a win in the Big East tournament from clinching a bid.

To be in position to make the tournament I think 4-4 down the stretch is a must and they'll likely need to go 5-3 (if they make a deep run in the Big East tournament that can change things slightly), I think they can have a bid locked up if they go 5-3 and happen to beat 2 of those RPI top 8 teams. I believe anything better than 5-3 down the stretch would make them a lock for the tournament.

So if the Bearcats go 5-3 down the stretch their resume would look something like this:

19-11 overall

10-8 Big East

2-5 vs. RPI top 25

3-4 vs. RPI 26-50

5-9 vs. RPI top 50

10-11 vs. RPI top 100

That is a fairly strong resume for a bubble team. Very few bubble teams are going to have 5 top 50 wins, some of which are away from home. UC will also not have a bad loss out of those games (unless they somehow lose to Depaul). They will have finished 7-5 down the stretch and gone 10-8 in the RPI number 1 conference. Not even looking at the field I think it would be possible for a Bearcat team to get in with that resume, but I would not feel safe unless they were able to get a win in the Big East tournament.

Now lets say they go 5-3 but get two of those wins against those Big East RPI top 8 teams. Now their resume looks like this:

19-11 overall

10-8 Big East

3-4 vs. RPI top 25

2-5, or 3-4 vs. RPI 26-50

5-9 or 6-8vs. RPI top 50

10-11 vs. RPI top 100

There really is not a huge difference their, but a team that has 3 RPI top 25 wins (two of which would likely be RPI top 10 wins) would be extremely appealing to the NCAA committee. The record vs. the RPI top 50 would largely depend on where their wins and losses were...their record vs. the RPI top 100 likely would not change. The difference is not huge, but I think it makes a difference. A 10-8 team in the #1 RPI conference, with 5 or 6 top 50 wins including two top 10 wins is going to be an NCAA tournament team. I am very confident in that.

For comparison's sake lets look at Arizona last season who was widely considered the most controversial team to make the tournament.

19-12 overall

9-9 Pac Ten

4-4 vs. RPI top 25

4-7 vs. RPI 26-50

8-11 vs. RPI top 50

Arizona would then lose in the first round of the conference tournament to Arizona State falling to 19-13. The other thing of note was they didn't win any of those games outside of Arizona and lost 5 of 6 down the stretch and yet despite those huge negatives still got in to the NCAA tournament on the strength of quality victories.

The Bearcats will have that opportunity. They already have quality wins away from home and for them to get to 5-3 down the stretch they are most likely not going to have a poor finish. Now comparing one year against another does not guarantee anything. We could have a particularly strong bubble this year that would make the Bearcat's resume not look as good (though I doubt it, particularly because last season upsets in various conference tournaments really limited the amount of bubble teams that got in). My point is I believe 5-3 down the stretch will put the Bearcats in prime position for a bid. If they go 5-3 and add a sixth win in the Big East tournament I will feel really good.

So that is it. That is where UC stands. Will we pull it off? I do not know, but I can tell you I am ready to enjoy the ride. It is year four of the Mick Cronin era...and we are in position to play ourselves into the Big Dance. It is time to take care of business and get the job done. I do not want this drought to extend to five years. I am ready to dance again. As you can see, the Bearcats certainly have every opportunity to make that happen.

Greetings, Bearcat fans!  This is the trial run for me using this new tool/toy.  We'll see how it goes.  Check back from time to time to see what I'm ranting about.  I'm emotional when it comes to my teams, but I haven't had a heart attack...yet.  And until I do, I'm not changing a thing.

As you can see we are still in the process of building our new site, so please excuse our "dust" as we work on getting all the kinks out.  Tim and I both feel that this site is only possible because of all the Bearcat fans that have called BearcatLair.com their home. Without you this would not be possible.  Thank you for putting your trust in us. We both strive to provide our members with the best experience possible.

While we are working out all the kinks please do not hesitate to look around the site and provide feedback on what you like, dislike, would like to see added or deleted. Now that we have 100% control of BearcatLair.com we can make any changes that we deem necessary.

Here are a few helpful links to get you started. If you have any questions please feel free to post them on the new and improved message boards.
