Cincinnati did not sign any running backs in 2009 or 2010 so adding some new legs to the RB stable in 2011 would seem to be a priority for Butch Jones and his staff. One of their recruiting targets is Thomas Rawls from Northern High School in Flint, Michigan.

Few, if any, long snappers get scholarship offers, and because of that, it's important for these specialists to market their unique skill. Kirk Willis from Granville High School understands that very well so he created a website and attended a number of college camps this summer. His efforts paid off when Willis verbally committed to UC on Thursday afternoon to become a preferred walk-on in 2011.

The 2010 Cincinnati offensive line doesn't face a total rebuilding job along its front, but there are definitely some holes to fill. Multi-year starters and All-Big East performers Jeff Linkenbach and Chris Jurek graduated leaving openings at left tackle and center so new UC offensive line coach, Don Mahoney, used the spring to do some experimentation.

With high school football practice starting one week from today for Finneytown's Donavon Clark, the time for taking unofficial visits is almost over. Clark narrowed his list of schools to Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan State, Ohio State, Tennessee and USC several weeks ago and says nothing has really changed with his list of finalists.

This group of receivers could be the best from top to bottom that the University of Cincinnati has ever had. They are both talented and experienced. Leading the way are veterans Armon Binns, D. J. Woods and Vidal Hazelton. Woods and Binns are returning starters while Hazelton and Marcus Barnett have also been college starters in the past.

Butch Jones and his staff added a defensive end commitment to their 2011 recruiting class when Chad West from Perry High School in northern Ohio verbally committed to the Bearcats after taking an unofficial visit to the Queen City on Sunday.

As we inch closer to August and the start of high school football, many recruits are still working their way through the recruiting process, and one of those prospects is Darius Patton (WR) from Poland Seminary High School in northern Ohio. He had previously played at Penn Hills in Pennsylvania.

Donovan Clark (OL) from Finneytown High School now has a dozen scholarship offers after the Bearcats added themselves to his list of suitors on Saturday afternoon. Clark knew something was up when Bearcat head football coach, Butch Jones, called him onto the practice field just prior to the start of Saturday's drills at Nippert Stadium.
