Recruiting Update- Kiaro Holts

With two dozen scholarship offers, one of the most highly recruited 2011 prospects in the state of Indiana is Warren Central's Kiaro Holts.  The Indiana offensive tackle's suitors include California, Cincinnati, Florida, Michigan State, Mississippi, Oregon, Purdue, USC, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Wisconsin and many others.

Just when you think Butch Jones is finished recruiting, the new Bearcat head football coach adds another player, and that's exactly what he did earlier today (Monday) when Ty Phillips (DT) verbally committed to the Bearcats.

Since Cincinnati didn't signed a running back in 2009 or 2010, that position will be a definite priority for Butch Jones and his Bearcats in 2011.  One of the top prospects holding a UC offer is Jameel Poteat from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Bearcat Lair spoke with the stud tailback last weekend to inquire about his recruitment.

Murray happy to be a Bearcat

Although Justin Murray waited until Friday to formally commit to the University of Cincinnati, the decision had really been made the moment the Bearcats offered him a scholarship.  As an offensive lineman at Sycamore High School, Murray wasn't often in the limelight, but the college recruiting process provides the big men in the trenches a chance to get noticed, and the junior was enjoying the attention, that is, until he had a heart-to-heart talk with his mother (Vikki).

After not signing a running back in 2009 or 2010, it's no secret the Bearcats would like to add a couple quality runners in 2011, but with the pickings rather slim in Ohio, Coach Jones and his staff have had to go well beyond the Buckeye State's borders to find what they want.  And one of the players they apparently want resides in the northern part of Big Ten country.
